Unlike typical luxury sports car, the 2008
Porsche 911 Carrera has a rear-engine design
that seems unorthodox but does not affect
the car’s speed, power or style. Two
different trim styles, the Carrera and the
Carrera S, are available in three different
body styles: the coupe, the Cabriolet (convertible)
and the Targa 4, which features a large power-sliding
glass roof and a flip-up rear glass hatch.
The
perfect exotic car rental, the standard 911
Carrera comes with 18-inch wheels, full power
accessories, a trip computer, vestigial rear
seats and automatic climate control. The Carrera
S is upgraded with 19-inch wheels, active
suspension management technology, larger breaks,
bi-HID xenon headlights, a sport steering
wheel and a more unique exterior and interior
trim.
The
two trim models also vary in engine size.
The standard Carrera features 3.6-liter, horizontally
opposed six-cylinder engine that generates
325 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque.
However, the Carrera S features an engine
more typical of a Porsche car rental and runs
on a 3.8-liter version of the six-cylinder
engine and produces 355 horsepower and 295
pound-feet of torque.
Both
the Carrera and Carrera S are available in
rear- or all-wheel drive and come standard
with a six-speed manual transmission. In addition
to six airbags, safety features on the cars
include antilock disc brakes, traction control
and stability control.
And
while the engines may be fast and the exterior
unique, what makes the vehicle a true luxury
car rental can be found in the extravagant
options available to all Porsche drivers.
From custom color schemes, unique seats, upgraded
stereos and custom leather trim to your choice
of wood, aluminum or carbon-fiber accents,
nothing goes unnoticed in the cockpit. Drivers
can also opt to include race-bred ceramic
disc brakes, a navigation system and the Sport
Chrono package, which includes devises that
keep track of lap times and records and the
electronic throttle for quicker response.
