The flagship sedan for one of the most luxurious
car manufacturers on the market, the Mercedes
Benz S Class has been the car to buy for the
past decade. Now, after being redesigned,
the 2008 version is the extravagant exotic
car rental of the year and offers an impressive
combination of power, technology and elegance.
With
five different models to choose from, it’s
unlikely a driver won’t find what they’re
looking for in the S Class. From the convenience
of the standard S550 to the power of the S65
AMG, there’s a Mercedes Benz car rental
for everyone. Built on a 5.5-liter V8 engine,
both the S550 two-wheel drive and S550 four-wheel
drive delivers 382 horsepower through a seven-speed
automatic transmission to either the rear
wheels or all four.
The
S600 features a twin-turbo V12 engine that
produces 510 horsepower and 612 pound-feet
of torque and the S63 AMG uses a smaller,
6.2-liter V8 that produces 518 horsepower
and 465 pound-feet of torque. For ultimate
power, the company produced the S65 AMG with
a twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces
an impressive 604 horsepower and 738 pound-feet
of torque.
While
the V12 engine models use a five-speed automatic
transmission, the S550, S550 4Matic and S63
AMG are each based around seven-speed automatic
transmission systems. Each model comes standard
with stability control, eight airbags and
brake assist as well as Mercedes’ trademark
PreSafe system that uses technology to sense
impending collisions and automatically tighten
seatbelts, close the sunroof and position
seats and airbags accordingly.
What
