A combination of the compact C Class Mercedes
sedans and the stylish CL Class couples and
SL class roadsters, the 2008 CLK Class features
two-door styling and impressive powerful performance.
The perfect luxury car rental for those who
desire a fast yet fancy looking car, the 2008
CLK is available in three trim sizes as a
coupe or a convertible.
The standard CLK trim is the 350, which features
a 3.5-liter V6 engine and produces 268 horsepower.
The CLK550 is basically an upgraded version
that runs on a 5.5-liter V8 and produces 382
horsepower. Those who crave an exotic car
rental with a little more power should indulge
in the CLK 63, which is powered by a 6.2-liter
V8 AMG-inspired engine that produces 475 horsepower
and tops out at around 155 mph.
Each of the models is rear-drive and come
with a seven-speed automatic transmission
with manual shift control. Stability control,
antilock disc brakes, brake assist, front-seat
side airbags and active front head restraints
are all standard and contribute to easy handling
and drivability. And while the coupe is ideal
for cold-weather driving, the convertible
offers a real Mercedes Benz car rental experience.
A sleek soft top automatically retracts at
the touch of the button, welcoming in the
sunshine and stares from jealous bystanders.
Each of the trims feature 18- or 19-inch
alloy wheel, 10-way adjustable power front
seats, leather upholstery, a 10-speaker sound
system, a power-adjustable tilt/telescoping
steering wheel and a dual zone automatic climate
control system. The CLK550 also includes paddle
shifters for the automatic transmission and
an AMB-style body kit for exterior upgrades.
With heated sports seats, attractive aluminum
accents and an upgraded audio system with
satellite radio, the CLK63 is by far the most
extravagant model.
