Ideal
for families who need a luxury car rental
that spacious, rugged and comfortable, the
2008 Chevy Tahoe has been revamped and redesigned
to compete with those SUV’s on the luxury
market. Aside from more extravagant interior
features and a sleeker exterior design, the
2008 model boasts an aerodynamic body for
a quieter ride and is built closer to the
ground so it’s a little easier to manage.
With
a truck-based underpinning, the Tahoe is perfect
for towing and is known for it’s off-road
capabilities. Under the large hood you’ll
find a pair of V8 engines and a four-speed
automatic transmission. While the base LS
trim carries two 295 horsepower 4.8-liter
engines, the upscale LT version is equipped
with a 5.3-liter engine that produces 320
horsepower and 340 pound-feet of torque. The
4.8-liter engine is two-wheel drive while
the 5.3 not only has more power but more driving
capabilities in four-wheel drive.
A
great Chevy car rental, the 2008 Tahoe LS
features 17-inch alloy wheels, a 40/20/40-split
front seat with built-in storage compartments,
satellite radio, dual-zone climate control
and OnStar telematics. However, with three
different equipment groups, the Tahoe LT brings
a little more to the table. Foglamps, color-keyed
exterior trim, steering-wheel-mounted audio
controls, front bucket seats with a console
and a turn-by-turn navigation system all come
standard but luxuries such as leather upholstery,
a CD changer, remote vehicle starting, heated
seats, 20-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing
wipers and rear parking assist can be added.
Carrying
up to nine passengers, the Tahoe is ideal
for family trips, making it a great exotic
car rental. Optional second- and third-row
folding seats mean more room for luggage while
a roof rack and impressive towing capabilities
ensure that families can bring as much as
they need without sacrificing leg room on
the inside.
